Couldn't live without

This is an absolute must have in my house. I only say that on a very select few subjects, but it's true. I have owned and used many brands and types of corded and cordless power tools and this drill is the only one I will ever need again. First of all coming from the world of various construction, low and high voltage, pre-vertical construction, finishing, house turning, this tool has eclipsed every other I have used in all my work areas over the years . I've used this all day for quick easy home repairs for big jobs, I've tested it and it's been top notch.1. This power is enough to cope with any task. I've used it for pre-drilling holes for finishing work in bedroom sets, closets, etc., it's precise, smooth and clean, it never runs out. I've also used it to install fasteners in concrete with a hammer drill and it's up to the task. I've only used it for 1/2 and 3/4 concrete drill bits but it got the job done and drilled dozens of holes with no problem. The battery life is like no other I've used. DeWalt has always been one of my favorite tool brands, especially for their battery life. It lasts longer and is better than Rigid, Milwaukee, Makita, whatever, loads faster, lasts longer and is always reliable. I encourage you to watch DeWalt make/assemble their batteries! Most companies, including other popular brands you see at Home Depot or Lowes, use the daisy chain method, meaning cell 1 connects to cell 2, which connects to cell 3, etc. etc. etc. So when you use it, the battery discharges cell 1. then cell 2, then cell 3 etc. etc. etc. When you charge it, the cells are charged in reverse order and usually not every cell in the battery is fully charged. DeWalt, on the other hand, did something unique by taking the time to get it right. Each battery cell is connected to charge/discharge terminals using technology that allows all cells to be used and charged simultaneously. When charging, each cell is evenly and fully charged. As you use it, each cell will be depleted equally. This is the main reason for the performance, lifespan and durability of their batteries, even with wear and use.3. The quality of the parts and workmanship. DeWalt products simply last a lifetime, always have been and always will be. Without spending 2-3 times more money on Festool, DeWalt will always be my #1 choice. You simply won't find the same attention to design, craftsmanship, or detail that goes into making a tool that DeWalt puts into their product.
