Use a real candle instead of a fake one

I bought this as a Christmas decoration. The lantern is actually made of light alloy which looks pretty nice and the door works but the candle looks very fake and once lit it flashes in a way that could give you a fit. I ended up replacing the fake candle with a real one and it worked really well. I will warn anyone doing this because once your real candle has been burning for a while the top ring holder will be VERY hot. In general, this did not damage the lantern.
