It would definitely help clarify the shape of the oval if the seller included the circumference measurements in the description and not just the overall length of the mandrel. The reason I give this 3 stars is because I was hoping that the narrow end of this oval mandrel would be smaller, in the 2mm to 3.5mm range. Instead, it's 5.7mm x 6.54mm. Also the size at the narrow end is less than 1mm difference between the narrow part of the oval and the wider part, which means it's not very oval, it's almost round. The entire mandrel lacks the defined oval shape I was hoping for. Half way to the mandrel the size I get is 9mm x 10.3mm. At the top, just below the notch, the size is 10.6mm x 12.3mm. On the other hand, the steel is well finished, very smooth. I'm sure I'll need a mandrel just to make the wire not as oval as I was hoping.
