Good Sound: Portable speakers and docks

I'm a contract worker and I have more DeWalt cordless tools than I can count so batteries aren't an issue. However, I did not buy it as a workplace radio. For that, I prefer a phone case with a tool belt to play or stream content so quietly that I can hear it without disturbing others. So this purchase should simplify my current campfire sound system which is wired, heavy and bulky as we use it on both backyard campfires and wilderness campgrounds. The system I'm talking about is the Bose Acoustic Wave attached to a Yamaha subwoofer which sets the bar very high in terms of sound quality, clarity and volume. Considering this DeWalt box is about 10% the cost of this system I think it's unfair to compare the two but I was used to that before buying. I am impressed. Other complaints that it doesn't have a charging function, remote control or other bells and whistles are none of my business. It ticks my priorities for portability, quick and easy BT pairing with amazing range, aux input to connect to TV and has crisp, clear sound. It's also built like a tank, so some abuse is required. Radio is rarely used for my purposes. Streaming content through my phone (SeriusXM) or playing thousands of song files on the memory card is what I use it for. Although I'm used to more volume and depth of sound, the output from this device is crisp, clear, clean and pleasing. And for those who haven't figured it out yet, to control the volume with your phone, once paired, turn the radio volume up to the maximum, then use your phone's volume wheel to increase or decrease it. Here's your remote control. Once set up this way, you can even use a smartwatch as a remote control for play, pause, forward, backward, and volume. This device will go a long way in minimizing and simplifying our entertainment setup, whether it's in the backyard or outdoors. Well done DeWalt!
