After reading some reviews I bought this for a very travel shy kitten who was about to fly a plane. I started giving her one capsule twice a day (with meals, which she ate with no problem) about three days before her flight. It seemed to make her a little insecure and more clingy than usual. Normally she is a very active, playful and affectionate kitten, but after the second day it decreased noticeably. I wouldn't say she's calmed down. In fact, she seemed a little more alert and lethargic. I took her in her stretcher (splattered with Feliway) for a few test runs (before and after taking Zilken) and she wasn't happy but ok. However, at the airport (through customs) she got scared and crouched in the corner of her stroller. she was shaking. Once we got on the plane I was able to get her out of the stroller and put her on my lap where she buried her head in my armpit and calmed down a bit, but neither Zylkene nor Feliway seemed to have any calming effect. Zylkene seemed to have a deterrent effect on their behavior, but not positively with less anxiety. tests beforehand. Also, the capsules I received were in pretty bad shape - the box was crumpled and a couple of capsules actually popped out and dented. The rest was still in foil plastic but also wrinkled and crumpled. I didn't go back because I would basically have to re-order and the price has gone up a few bucks since I ordered. This is one of the downsides of buying from Revain - you usually can't make an exchange of equal value and instead get a refund and then re-order an item that may have gone up in price. I've never had a discount on a backorder, but I think it's possible.
