Works with Trek Marlin 7

I used this product to replace the original 3 speed crankset on a Trek Marlin 7 MTB. All threads fit my frame, and the pedals worked with cranks. The only confusing part of the setup was which side of the hub the sprocket is mounted on, which varies by bike, but usually the sprocket is inside the configuration. best for chain alignment. I've noticed that eliminating the three front sprockets results in more chain shedding, especially when reversing. For beginners like me, you will also need to replace/adjust the chain length as the crank sprocket is small. In addition to switching to gearing, I replaced the cassette with a low-range ring (for mountain goat mode) and used a stock derailleur. Turns out you'll probably need to buy/make a longer derailleur bracket to get out of the way of the new large sprocket on the cassette. In any case, there is little information about how my appeal went.
