I had to replace a bent rod. I already have aluminum mounting blocks that appear to be the same as the photo. Removing the bolt and removing the bar is very easy, which I do every two years to replace the foam grip that wears out and wears out. This rod does not come with foam and has a black block which I do not want and which is different from the photo. To remove the rod from the blocks I had to cut off the sprocket star washers holding the pin. It seemed a bit over the top as my model is just a nut and can be easily removed in minutes. If you need to remove the bar from the mounting blocks to attach the foam grip, you may need new Starlock washers to replace the ones that need to be force removed. Otherwise the bar (the only part I need) is great.
