Review on πŸ”₯ LG 5220FR2006H Authentic OEM Hot Water Inlet Valve for LG Washing Machines by Kenny Stephens

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I deduct 3 stars from the perfect rating because this is NOT an original part from LG.

I gave it two stars because so far it has fixed a leak that existed at the hot water inlet valve on my LG WM2688HNM. However, I deducted 3 stars from the perfect score as this is NOT a genuine LG part as advertised in the listing. First, it has a cheaper screen. The one removed from the washing machine has a metal strainer with numerous holes (see photo). It's much more porous than its counterpart, which has a plastic screen with fewer holes. It's much more likely that the replacement is clogged with calcium. So if you live in an area with high levels of calcium in the water, be careful. Second, an additional third hole is drilled in the mounting bracket to make it more versatile for multiple other washers. Compare the original part with the 2-hole bracket in the photo. All of this would be acceptable if the Parts For Less Co. seller was honest in the description and did not describe it as a manufacturer model #5220FR2006H, genuine spare part, Lucky Goldstar (LG). No, that is not so! This is a common replacement part that fits LG, but is not a genuine replacement part. Update (05/04/2018): After a few days of use, the valve became very noisy. It makes a high-pitched whine and a fluttering noise. Downgraded the rating to 1 star accordingly. No leaks yet, but I don't think it will be for long. I highly recommend that anyone who needs an LG hot water inlet valve (part #5220FR2006H) goes to a regular home appliance aftermarket store that sells genuine LG parts and buys one from there. These spare parts are not of the same quality.
