Review on Get A Boost Of Energy With Theralite Halo Light Therapy Lamp - UV Free 10,000 LUX Sun Lamp by Leticia Wilhelmsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to set-up and use and may improve health and well-being during fall and winter months.

The Theralite Halo Bright Light Therapy Lamp - Sun Lamp for Light Therapy, 10000 LUX is here on the table next to my desk shining its light on me as I write this review. This lamp can’t be easier to set-up and use. Take it out of the box, plug it in to a regular outlet, and then turn it on with a switch found in the middle of the base. Plus+ and Minus– switches are located to the left and right of the on/off switch. I just tapped the Plus+ switch and now I have maximum light shining on me. Now I tapped the Minus– switch and the light has dimmed considerably. As mentioned, it can’t get easier to use this lamp. I just measured the height of the lamp and it measures 25” from the base to the top of the lamp. The diameter of the base is 8”. This is a large lamp.Does light therapy work? Here is what I found at the Mayo Clinic Web Site:Light therapy is thought to affect brain chemicals linked to mood and sleep, easing SAD symptoms. Using a light therapy box may also help with other types of depression, sleep disorders and other conditions. Light therapy is also known as bright light therapy or phototherapy. Light therapy is a way to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and certain other conditions by exposure to artificial light. SAD is a type of depression that occurs at a certain time each year, usually in the fall or winter. During light therapy, you sit or work near a device called a light therapy box. The box gives off bright light that mimics natural outdoor light. As I am typing this review I can feel the bright light on my face and with my peripheral vision I can see the lamp itself shining in my left eye. This light does not distract me from writing the review. Now the lamp has been working for thirty minutes and I shut it off as directed in the User’s Guide, which tells me that if the lamp is positioned eight inches from my eyes thirty minutes is recommended. The User’s Guide doesn’t have much information about the lamp, but not much is needed.Bottom line: It is a dark, snowy afternoon here in Western MA, one day before Halloween, a perfect time to use this Therapy Lamp. I’m not sure of the total health benefits of the lamp, but the Mayo Clinic recommends light therapy in our dark fall and winter New England months. So far so good.
