These are good water socks but not strong enough to be water boots. I wear mine on concrete, to the beach and back. I think they will pop on concrete. I found the fit a bit short. I wear the New Balance 8.5 and ordered the ladies 9 - I have very long toes - maybe that's the problem. The zipper turned sideways the first time and I had to fiddle with it a bit to get it right again, which I don't want to do with a group of kids who want to go to the beach or when water classes start. For indoor use only, they are quite comfortable. The non-zipped ones look different and may have a different sole and fit.
