I have an adult female mini golddoodle weighing 23 pounds. She is usually large when I shop at the pet store. I have previously bought this coat for my other dog who is a mini schnauzer and based on previous reviews I went for the XL when she was really average or something. Based on my scribblings trying on size XL and previous reviews I ordered size XXL for her and it fits perfectly! It's stylish, warm and quite water-resistant. I also like snaps because the puppy's fur often gets caught in the velcro. Be sure to read the reviews and measure your dog. I would say the rule of thumb would be to wear about twice the size of what your dog normally wears.
