Socks are the perfect barrier between me and the ground. I set them on the lowest setting, which is perfect and very toasty. I think a higher setting would be too much! The battery life is up to 8 hours. I'm sure I can tell the difference when the battery is low. I also checked if I could wear heated socks over a pair of summer wool socks for extra comfort.
