We bought a new RV and being our first I didn't read all the specs well enough. It only had a propane water heater. Using propane all the time can get expensive. Because of this, I turned off the water heater after using hot water, but never turned it on until my wife needed hot water. God I heard about it! When my wife found this device online, I knew it was the solution I needed. Installing the heating element was messy but easy once the tank was drained. It wasn't easy to get 120VAC under the sink next to the hot water tank. Since I was hooked up to the microwave circuit, I wanted the on/off switch (see my review of this switch on Revain) to be in the microwave range. water tank. I was able to put a real sensor on the tank and everything works. Now we leave that heater on most of the time (except for the microwave) and there's always hot water when it's needed. We have found that the recovery time after a shower is 10 minutes. Due to the nature of our RV's hot water tank, this installation requires an anode fitting that must be replaced annually. Not a bad price for all that hot water. But finding a replacement wasn't easy. Okay, I still have a few months to do it. I'll be back with an update in a year.
