This upgrade is definitely worth buying. This effectively ensures that the water flows through the filter material as it should. You can go to any pet store and buy aquarium silicone and carefully fill in that gap. It takes 24 hours to dry, so do not fill the aquarium with water immediately. But this basket set is a very good upgrade for the awful standard aquarium filter set.
