I make cabochon jewelry in various shapes and sizes to sell at local craft fairs. I use images from my own photographs, illustrations and even some original cyanotype images. These rings sell well and work very well. I always use glue when making my creations. So I apply glue to the bottom of the tray, then my work, then another layer of glue (it's transparent) and then a cabochon. The glue attaches the artwork to the tray and the cabochon to the artwork. Not sure I'll be relying on cabochon plus art to stay in ring without glue. I haven't had any problems with glue. The part of the ring around the finger gently flexes to accommodate any finger size from teens to adults. It is not suitable for children's fingers because the ring does not fit snugly. So it's great for the elderly, but not so good for kids (or adults with little fingers I guess). In general it is recommended.
