This was an "Open Box/Used" discount item. It was a short blank for a ring (9 instead of 10) and the 10 glass cabochons were coated with something that turned yellow causing 8 of them to stick together in pairs. I soaked the cabochons in hot water with Dawn detergent to separate and strip the yellowed surface.

For the price it was amazing considering I was scared because I read comments from people who said they had broken glass domes/ring settings but everything was wrapped in bubble wrap like crazy and nothing was broken. I had to soak the domes in hot water as some of them were sticking together, but you still need to clean them before use. I will definitely buy more of these.

I make cabochon jewelry in various shapes and sizes to sell at local craft fairs. I use images from my own photographs, illustrations and even some original cyanotype images. These rings sell well and work very well. I always use glue when making my creations. So I apply glue to the bottom of the tray, then my work, then another layer of glue (it's transparent) and then a cabochon. The glue attaches the artwork to the tray and the cabochon to the artwork. Not sure I'll be relying on cabochon…
