Not what they were designed for but they make AWESOME cat litter scoops! I don't know if they work with granular litter, but they work surprisingly well with corn, silica, and clay litters. They pick up even the smallest crumbs that have fallen into the cracks of other shovels, leaving only perfectly clean garbage. Thanks to these screens, the litter in my litter box doesn't smell at all. I use a regular litter scoop after each placement in the crates and then use this screen about twice a week to remove any tiny crumbs that may have been overlooked. , or whenever I notice one. My litter boxes stink after a while - now they never stink again. I've looked everywhere for something that can remove even the smallest of lumps and was very happy to find this. I keep one near each tray.
