The lighting is terrible for the most part

I bought this after seeing an unlit panel and this LED panel with a world map and decided to spend the extra money on RGB lighting. I was disappointed and sent the pad back. It was a waste of time as the bottom edge was barely very dimly lit at first. Then he had strange hotspots in different areas of the map. If I'm going to spend the extra money it only makes sense that the panel looks evenly lit. On the other hand, the picture is deceptive. It does not light up as shown. It seems like it has to have LEDs so it can't display different colors in the different areas that the image represents. It combines 2 colors of LEDs on each end of the switch. There are other options that are better, but the panel isn't that big.
