Maybe it was intended for Superman or the Hulk

I bought this from BB&B. It might have been intended for Superman or the Hulk, but not for the average person. The instructions say to cut off part of the fruit and then slice the fruit. The device confirmed what I already know: I am not a Herculean woman. Even after rocking it back and forth and squeezing hard a few times, nothing worked. Then I halved and deseeded the honeydew melon. Then I could cut it without any problems. However, I now had twice as many pieces to peel the fruit. Since we usually chop up whole fruit and send it to school for snacking, storing the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for the after-school snack means the fruit takes twice as long to prepare. Washing this dishwasher without a dishwasher safe item is time consuming and somewhat dangerous. In addition, the center of the core is too large for apples and oranges. So for perfectly even half slices on the skin, this is a good buy. For me, however, it wasn't the useful kitchen gadget I was hoping for. :(

Pros
  • Has two large soft handles for good leverage
Cons
  • Frequency
