Review on 🔊 Infinity PR5012IS 5-1/4" Two-Way Multielement Speaker - Pair: Immerse in Superior Audio Experience by David Epps

I'm going to buy another pair for the doors on my '79 Ford Ranchero. I bought these as a temporary mid/tweeter replacement for my old Warfedale W2 speakers. My speakers use 5 1/4" mid tweeters which reproduce some of the cleanest mids of any speaker I've heard but unfortunately the surround sound has been eaten up and is an odd size but it can be fixed. I needed something to persuade me to purchase pending repairs to the original drivers.I chose a coaxial car speaker as that would give me everything I need to be able to easily use my speakers until they can be overhauled.I have always loved the Infinity but was concerned by the fact that they are now owned by Harman International and doubted the quality at the time knowing what they had done with JBL I also have a pair of Polk DB522's, Comparable in price range these are the door speakers for my classic 1979 Ford Ranchero currently undergoing a restoration I have removed them to use Infinity Compare Primus what I've been waiting for. My speakers have a 5 1/4 speaker in a separate cabinet. While waiting for the Infiniti I removed my speakers and installed Polks and for testing the crossover was not used at this point. The sound of the Polk in my cabinets was very good but left a lot to be desired in the upper frequencies, very dull and muffled highs. Infinity arrived and I was looking forward to installing them, not expecting anywhere near what I had with the original drivers but hoping they would at least help me. I installed them again without a crossover, I was enthusiastic from the first sound. The clarity is breathtaking, very detailed mids with crystal clear highs. I unplugged the woofer in my closets and let the Infinity work on its own, the bass is very smooth and accurate. Then I set them to a 12dB crossover at 500Hz. Of course, I do not repair original drivers for my speakers. My old Warfedales sound amazing. Infinity gave them new life. There were a few things I didn't like about my speakers, Infinity eliminated all of that. I will be buying another pair for my Ranchero's doors and also replacing the factory speakers in the truck. I just can't say enough good things about her.
