I bought these to protect birds outside because one of my cats keeps killing babies ☹ I don't like them getting birds at all. The bells worked for a week, maybe two, but that's a lot. My cats are out most of the day so I don't know if they were "rough" with the bells but they are cats and I feel like they should have lasted longer than 2 weeks. However, while they stopped, I found fewer mice. it seems perhaps because of the bluebells that the cats have become disillusioned with the birds, thank goodness now that our family doesn't find much anymore. If you buy these bells, I recommend buying a stronger keychain, right? That way they don't get lost so quickly.
