We have a fan with a vent duct and have previously swapped the 12v motor and blades. The engine is surprisingly twice the size and twice the power of the previous two. BENEFITS: The extra fan speed and engine burn lasts much longer. CONS: Installation took longer than expected. Here's why: the screw holes were much larger and didn't match the original's mounting bracket. The required mounting screws of the correct size are not supplied. The wires are much thicker than the original and the electrical connections to the motor are much larger. I had to make connectors for the wires and splice the wires together. Haven't found the right screw size yet, so the fan is now zipped to the bracket, making it a lot louder. Because the motor is larger, the original hole in the fan blade was too small for the motor shaft, so we used a hammer and some other tools to make a larger hole for the fan blade and tie the fan onto the motor shaft. EITHER provide the required hardware and instructions (mounting bracket that adjusts the hardware, screws, fan blade to match the shaft, and electrical connectors) AND/OR note that the product is an actual UPGRADE and not OEM compatible that it is larger and is stronger. OEM and hardware sold separately.
