Some of us are trying to revive the 'old' art of darning socks. Firstly because we have bought some very expensive socks that are prone to seam holes and/or we have knitted them which is not only expensive but also time consuming to manufacture. Hoping to save them from the garbage, I decided to learn darning. You can find some great YouTube videos on this, but what's harder to find is a good darn. This seems to be the only one available commercially and is too small unless you're darning kid's socks. I made my own from a wooden egg and knob I found from Michael and glued it together with Gorilla Glue.
