When I was a kid we settled for what we had for the occasional and rare snowfall. This usually resulted in the hands and feet soon becoming very cold. I have since learned that good clothing makes bad weather worse. We usually rely on used items for our children and then pass those gifts on to others. They outgrow them so quickly that there's little point in spending even $20 to wear them for just one season. But I couldn't find snow shoes for my 5 year old smiling son. All of the new ones I found at Target and Walmart were branded with pop culture characters and overpriced for the quality.
