Continuous. A safe option for fires where the extinguisher doesn't work.
I didn't have a fire (fortunately) but they seem good! The housing is robust and very easy to open, which can be critical in the event of a fire. The blanket feels heavy and is a good size. See drawing draped over chair for scale. I put one in the kitchen and one on the patio. The lid has an eyelet for hanging on a nail or hook for easy access.
