My guess because it should work on a 2007 Ford Taurus but it's not programmed. I followed the instructions 8 times and it just wasn't programmed into my car. I bought another one from another company on Revain and also had to send it back as it wasn't programmed. I ended up having to go to my local Ford dealership and pay $55 for an OEM key fob that was programmed the first time. I also bought one from Revain for my 2005 F350 and it programmed the first time and works great. Saved me a lot of money. I can only assume that it is broadcasting on the wrong frequency. It would be unfair to give it one star as the seller might buy those that run on a different frequency thinking they run on the 315MHz my computer runs on. While it didn't work for me, I'd recommend trying it if you have a different car than mine and it's listed as the one it works on. If it worked I could buy 8 of these for the price I had to pay Ford for OEM Fob
