Review on WIX Filters - Heavy Duty Filter Mounting Base 24770 - Pack of 1 by Jamal Gignilliat

I used this CAT filter housing on my diesel truck. It works, but the build quality didn't convince me. There are a lot of loose burrs on the inside of the case that you need to remove so they don't contaminate your fluid system. Also, the threaded nipple wasn't straight. When I tighten the filter, the gasket only touches on one side but leaves a gap of about 1/16 inch on the other side. Luckily I was able to tighten it to the point where there was no leakage. Also, the 1/2" NPT ports on the side have been cut very deep. When threading in a barb fitting, it is screwed in so deep that it is barely tightened before the hex portion of the fitting contacts the body. Compared to a similar case, the I had from Parker who had none of these issues.
