Works with Caterpillar 1R-0750 and 1R-0749 filters

Works great. This mounting base is made of aluminium, but the threaded nipple onto which the filter is screwed is made of coated steel. The fuel line fittings are 1/2" NPT threads, so using readily available hose burrs to install them is inexpensive and easy. I have used this mounting base with a Caterpillar 1R-0749 filter. Works in a pinch, look elsewhere for quality.

This filter database works with my CAT filters and is made in the USA. The fit and finish leave a lot to be desired for a product in this price range. The threads on the filter adapter are sharp and will cut the aluminum threads in the filter, requiring a secondary filter to remove particulates afterwards. The face of the gasket is not perpendicular to the filter adapter threads, creating a gap between the filter head and the filter gasket. Sufficient torque is required to overcome the seal and

The base uses a steel center thread, which is better, and no ORB fittings, just 1/2 "NPT for the connection.

I liked that the threads didn't fray. I returned the other head as it had aluminum threads and the Cat 1R0750 has aluminum threads which is a bad idea.The carving is sharp.I used a steel brush then a damp nylon sponge and smoothed out the sharp burrs on the threads from trimming the threads and now they are smooth as silk Pictures are included where a typical bile problem occurs with an unfortunate trucker using a cheap aluminum filter base and these can get stuck very badly during use Filter…

Works but not great

I used this CAT filter housing on my diesel truck. It works, but the build quality didn't convince me. There are a lot of loose burrs on the inside of the case that you need to remove so they don't contaminate your fluid system. Also, the threaded nipple wasn't straight. When I tighten the filter, the gasket only touches on one side but leaves a gap of about 1/16 inch on the other side. Luckily I was able to tighten it to the point where there was no leakage. Terrible casting! on Motorcycle & Powersports

Small size, looks like a 2 year old made it in a hobby class! The casting/machining of this part is horrible! Sharp edges everywhere, tiny pieces that can fall off at any moment. You feel like you need another filter after that just in case the parts come loose! I've run a wire brush through mine many times, rinsed with water and dried to try and remove the small bits.
