Review on WIX Filters - Heavy Duty Filter Mounting Base 24770 - Pack of 1 by Julian Perkins

Works great. This mounting base is made of aluminium, but the threaded nipple onto which the filter is screwed is made of coated steel. The fuel line fittings are 1/2" NPT threads, so using readily available hose burrs to install them is inexpensive and easy. I have used this mounting base with a Caterpillar 1R-0749 filter. This base is better than ALL Baldwn FB1311 aluminum bases , ALL Caterpillar 280-2698 Aluminum Base or ALL Fleetguard 142784S Aluminum Base Unlike the aluminum filaments of Baldwin, Caterpillar and Fleetguard bases, the coated steel filaments of these WIX bases will not gall the aluminum filaments of Caterpillar 1R 0750 and 1P-0749 filters .
