These ankle boots are a real treat for my feet and complete a nice homemade pedicure. There is nothing magical about the gel. Creates a barrier that 'floats' the feet when worn, unlike regular socks which absorb lotions, potions and oils meant for the feet. You just have to limit yourself to clean feet. They wash well, I turn them inside out so the gel doesn't pick up hair or lint from other things. Recommend.
