Loud, intimidating tarnish. My desktop doesn't even publish when installed. Plugged it into the USB dock and tried writing to it. Seek time pauses with a nasty click every few seconds and you can see that's affecting speed. You also hear that howling chirp that you hear when hard drives fail. Data is still written to it, but if you pay what they wanted for the drive and read all the hype they give you in their description, you expect it to work just fine. I don't know how this CD gets such a high rating. You should never ship the drive in this condition. Of course, in the RMA process (which assumes the drive has problems) you pay the shipping cost and they will most likely send me another drive with similar performance. That's what you'd expect from a $50 "fixed" drive off ebay or craigslist. Not a new drive from a reputable company. Beware.
