Installation was easy. The package includes 2 round plastic inserts of different thicknesses to accommodate different diameter handlebars and 6 adhesive pads for the inside of 4 teeth to prevent scratches or dents on bare phones. I added two additional overlays to the case at the top and bottom next to the vertical seam. I use an iPhone 8 Plus holder in a 3mm thick case and it has enough room for an even bigger phone. The mount doesn't vibrate when cycling and seems to last a long time. I have already given him another vote of confidence by buying a second one.
