So I highly doubt it's UPF 50 which is one of the reasons I chose this hat over others. I have attached photos of the light shining straight through the cap, you can see the light on my desk from the flashlight. It wasn't in the dark, but it wasn't in the light room either. For the record, it's 8am and the sun always shines here, but I'm not at the window for a photo. As I stepped outside and saw bright rays of sunshine shining through, I realized the hat wasn't going to fit me the way I expected. Even with dark glasses, the sun seemed to shine in my eyes. I live in a very, very sunny place. I really need this to protect my face and eyes. Really disappointed. i can send it back But I bought it at a discount so maybe it's not worth it if I have to pay shipping. I would have chosen a different brand :( Too bad! Also, I removed the labels. That was stupid.
