I was renovating our cedar blinds and the wood was dried, cracked and otherwise weathered after several years of exposure to the elements. I chose this product for its purity - I didn't want to add wax or other preservatives because I would get stains again after sanding. I applied a few coats and the wood took it well without leaving any stains. I really feel it makes a difference because the wood is easy to sand and doesn't crack anymore. It's quite expensive, but I applied two coats to 20 shutters and used about a half gallon. I use the rest for cutting boards when needed or for blinds again in a few years.
