To disinfect, simply store in a little vinegar. Takes a long time.

I hate washing dishes. I'm not sure if it's dipping my hands in dirty water or feeling like your hands are after washing dishes, but I really don't like it. I mostly use the dishwasher, but the one we have doesn't have a meat grinder. Soooo, that means I have to pre-wash before loading. That's where these handy brushes come in. You are wonderful. I simply submerge the plate under a small amount of water, press the button to squeeze out some soap (I dilute Dawn dishwashing liquid at a ratio of about 2 parts Dawn: 1 part water), and shake most of the dirt off the plate into the water . they are dishwasher safe. They're abrasive enough to remove stuck food but didn't scratch my nonstick pans. I have bakeware that isn't dark non-stick, but silver, which I paid dearly for, and can't be cleaned in the dishwasher. I always use 2 of these, 1 for the dishwasher and 1 for the sink to wash dishes. If they're spoiled by food, I just pop them in the dishwasher like normal and set the handle upright in the jar or jar (so the soap doesn't spill). The ones I use for the dishwasher I only have refills for a 6 month rotation on subscription and storage (it's a pack of 12). They last a long time so I don't have to change them often. The one I use to wash the sink that isn't used that often I keep in a jar of white vinegar next to the sink to disinfect. Just enough vinegar to cover part of the sponge. Vinegar in combination with washing-up liquid gives my baking pan a nice shine. If you liked my review, please click "Yes", it was helpful 
