I bought a black leather mouse pad to replace my old one and it works fine. The only thing missing is the wrist rest. Personally, I like the height, and I think that's right, because typical mouse pads with wrist rests are a bit taller than I like. However, the material of the pillow placed inside is not like regular filling, so it will not rebound over time. I've been using it 8+ hours a day for almost 3 weeks and I really like it, but I hope the pad doesn't fail anytime soon.
