As some have pointed out, this is a bushing installer only; it doesn't cut a hole. I didn't understand it in the product details. Also, bushings are only 1 piece, not 2 pieces. This means you insert the bushing into the hole and use this tool to bend over the walls of the bushing to clamp it down. It leaves a ripped shoulder on the inside of the fabric. The tool works well too, but depending on how carefully you grip and crimp the buttons, the socket may come out more or less torn and well placed. In general this wasn't what I had in mind so I went back to another item that comes with a hole cutter and two piece bushings so there is a clean shoulder on the inside of the item through which the bushing was installed .
