My speakers are about the same size as in the picture and have been on the floor for a couple of years. At such dimensions, it was like forgetting they were there. Stands were easy to set up. I understand why it was difficult for humans to thread wires through poles. You'll need to disassemble the posts, thread them through the bottom, then through the plastic insert and make sure it's in place, then bend the ends of the wires a bit. Push the wires through the smaller tube and catch them in the hole at the top (I used a large paper clip). Not very easy, but not very difficult either. The glass and metal look goes well with my electronics stand. There are several ways to mount the speaker, but I used the simplest: the tape that came with the stands. The "shelf" above is big enough to hold them. Now my speakers look like they should and my TV sound etc is actually a bit better.
