Review on πŸ’œ Remington CI5019: 3/4 Inch Ceramic Clipped Curling Iron in Purple - Effortless Styling at Its Finest by Rebecca Stokes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Rerated from 4 stars to 1 star

I have been very happy with Remington products in the past so I was interested in trying this curling iron. I liked the overall design and the purple color is a fun touch. I prefer ceramic flat irons because I use a styling product and my hair is styled with a regular metal flat iron. This one works fine; My hair slips off the barrel easily. 30 temperature settings offer a wide range for different hair types. I wish there was guidance in the instructions for choosing the appropriate setting for your hair type (I've seen this on other straighteners I've used). I appreciate the hardness of the dial - in other words, it stays consistent between uses. The iron has the standard features you would expect: a light to let you know when the iron has reached the selected temperature, an automatic shut-off. Shut off and swivel cord. One design feature I didn't like was the finger rest at the end of the barrel. It's too short and pointed which can burn your fingers so I'm deducting a star. curling iron. Here's what I found: The finger grip I mentioned in the previous review isn't just about getting burned. It's almost a guarantee. He's too short. I used the lowest temperature available and still got significant burns. The final straw came last week when I suffered a second degree burn to my index finger when I accidentally jammed a flat iron in my finger while trying to wrap my hair onto the shaft. Which brings me to the last problem: the rod is too slippery. I like ceramic straighteners, but this one often caused my hair to fall out when I wrapped it around the rod. When I went back to my old straightener, I found that the problems I was having weren't due to a lack of dexterity, but rather to the curling iron's awkward design. I can't recommend this product after prolonged use.
