An acceptable way to prepare taiyaki at home

It is quite difficult to prepare taiyaki at home. Without a professional facility, you have many molds to put your dough in and try to get it right. A proper taiyaki should be thin on the outside and moist on the inside, but not undercooked. The problem with pans is that you can't heat both sides evenly, you can't tell when it's baking, or you can't tell how it's baking. On top of that, taiyaki has a filling that can sometimes be custard and will quickly cook through the batter and ruin your taiyaki. Seriously, this stuff is hard to do. For something that's basically a pancake mix. Wow. So step into this little mini taiyaki grill. There are some real advantages here that your iron molds don't have, but there are also disadvantages. The first benefit is that they seal and hold the mixture in place as it bakes, and bake on both sides. This means your thinner fillings, like custard or chocolate, stay mostly inside and don't overcook (of course, this isn't a problem with traditional red bean fillings). Plus, you don't have to worry about a separate heat source. Cons: This device is small and the taiyaki you will be making is about a third the size of traditional taiyaki, which was a bit disappointing for me. Also, there was a faint smell of burnt plastic while in use, so I'm not sure how the internal components withstood the heat. Neutral non-stick surface. It's neutral because basically all forms will have it. In summary, if you are looking for an easier way to prepare taiyaki, then this could be for you. If you don't mind smaller portion sizes. It's a little pricey and the production can be a little iffy, but in the end it serves the purpose.
