I searched for hours for a fairly priced solid wood butcher block until I came accross this one (shown on bottom of picture). I bought it to just place it on the foot rest of my kitchen-island/table to make a shelf -it worked perfectly!This is a heavy sturdy solid piece made of wood slabs glued together (like most of the modern butcher blocks are). I was so happy with my "creation”, that I went back and bought the 24”x60” butcher block from the same seller (BenchPro from Tecate California) for placing on top, turning my old table into a larger farm-style kitchen island.These butcher blocks come pretreated with mineral oil, and you can choose rounded edges or not. They also come excellently packaged. See picture attached of my new effortless custom made (by myself) kitchen island. No tools or assembly needed! :)
