First, it's perfect for my cat to go outside safely (supervised) and rest in the sun, but she won't let him leave my house. Second, I use this on my Chihuahua during a thunderstorm - it calms her down. I've also used it as a temporary potty with a pillow holder and pillow inside while working from home and not being able to walk my dog outside when he needs to go. I would not trust this to be safe for an unsupervised dog as the mesh can easily be chewed through. I also take it with me when I take my dog on day trips and need free hands and it gives her a place to play with her toys. and a feeding and drinking station. In general, I've found several uses for it. When I first received this it smelled "chemical", I opened it and aired it outside and the next day the smell was zero.
