Review on 🔊 Enhance Your DIY Wireless Speaker: Icstation Bluetooth Receiver Board with High Power Stereo Amplifier by James Small

Fantastic module with many possibilities!

I play with electronic modules a lot and it's nice to find one that does what it says on the tin. This bluetooth amplifier is small, only 20mm x 40mm. It features a Bluetooth 5.2 transceiver chip and two NS4165 audio amplifier chips. Almost any speaker should work with it. The set contains 3 pairs of cables with connectors, one for the power supply and two for the speakers. It has a light blue LED to show the connection status. It flashes quickly when searching and slowly when connecting. Also, when connected, a single signal can be heard from the speakers. It requires a 3.7 to 5 volt power supply, but is actually designed to run on a single lithium battery. You must use a protected battery or add a protection board to the circuit. If the device turns off, you must unplug the power for a few seconds and then plug it back in. A switch in the circuit will do this. The board has a micro USB connector that can be used for both power and battery charging. My setup consisted of a protected 18650 battery, a power button and two 100W 8 ohm bookshelf speakers. In testing, I used it continuously for two days. I used my laptop, Android tablet Nook, and phone as sources. All three devices quickly connected. I had no problem holding my tablet or phone 50 feet away. If the source is also Bluetooth 5 compatible, which my phone was, the battery percentage is also reported. The sound quality is excellent. When listening to YouTube videos or playing music, the frequency response was comfortable and even within my listening range. The sound level did not change in the input voltage range from 3.7 to 5 volts. The power consumption is very low. Standby less than 10mA, and the device will turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity. Starting with a fully charged battery at 4.2 volts, the voltage dropped to 4 volts after only 8 hours of continuous operation. With USB power supply, the power meter showed consumption of around 20 mAh. This makes it ideal to use a small button cell battery if you want to design a mini bluetooth speaker. No components got hot on battery power or when USB was connected to charge the battery. In my opinion this is the perfect module to create any bluetooth speaker project. Excellent goods!
