Pros: It was easy to set up (use 8 zeros for built-in Wi-Fi password) and delivers clear sound with well-to-clear highs (unlike some Bluetooth devices I've had before). Cons: The multi-room capability is somewhat questionable. It works like this: You use the Smart Sonix app to make one device a "slave" to another. But what happens behind the scenes is that the slave then connects to the master over the master's internal Wi-Fi, not the home Wi-Fi. In my case, I have multiple Wi-Fi hotspots (which themselves connect to a switch) so the house has full Wi-Fi coverage. Other people can use the grid. But these devices ignore all of this and simply won't work in the absence of a good direct signal. I fully understand that devices need to sync their internal clocks to within milliseconds to avoid echoes/phase when playing the same music, but I would think there are enough algorithms to do this over a connection that they don't control ( my home wifi).
