Works well as a standalone unit on camera or side mounted for parties or events, but not a good substitute for a speedlite in a softbox or umbrella for photography. The luminous flux is really two or three levels lower. I ordered two as a backup system for my Canon Speedlites. Although Yongnuo makes great products, the light output is nowhere near what you need for product quality on a paid photo shoot. Everything else about this product is good: buttons, menus. They've done well except for the flash performance. I've had them for three months now, but I've been busy with other things. I would return them if I could. (Youngnuo, are you listening? I buy your products, but I think you can do better with these. They couldn't light my subject at 5 feet with the softbox mount. They're useless and I have $231 for them issued.)
