Review on πŸ’ͺ Compact and Powerful: Mini-Box picoPSU-160-XT 24 Pin Mini-ITX Power Supply by Kanwar Mix

Yes, you can PLAY it!

I purchased this product as a kit (160-XT + 192W AC DC unit) straight out of the Mini Box. long time ago and I am very glad that I finally discovered it. My plan was to build a fully custom wooden mini-ITX gaming "console" with relatively low-power components in a small chassis. I originally wanted to use my existing SFX-L power supply, but it was too big and was making unnecessary noise due to the extra fan. Then this little beast appeared. I am currently playing and writing this review with a cardboard prototype chassis containing: - i5 6600 (Thermaltake Engine 27 cooled) - GTX 750 ti (soon to be upgraded to 1050 ti with no external power connections) - 500GB Samsung 850 Evo - 16 GB DDR4 RAM - and a Corsair ML140 fan. both the processor and Furmark at the same time for twenty minutes without any problems, so I am very satisfied with the performance and reliability of the PicoPSU. I am sure that after upgrading to 1050 ti I will have no problems in the near future. Who said PicoPSU is unplayable? You lied! Update: 02/05/17 It's been a month since I upgraded to the Zotac GTX 1050 ti OC and I'm happy not to have any issues to report. My system is absolutely stable, although I haven't overclocked the card (nor do I intend to do so any time soon). My confidence in PicoPSU has grown even more. Some people tend to ask on forums for advice on using a dedicated GPU with a PicoPSU and they usually reply "DO NOT do this". Too many people seem to underestimate the power of these little DC units. They easily handle the unpredictable workloads of respectable mid to high-end GPUs, including the GTX 1060! The only criticism is the high price-to-watt ratio, which isn't a big problem given the excellent quality of these devices and small components tend to be a bit more expensive.
