Great basic neck brace. It is made well, so it is quite soft and also supportive. It didn’t press too much on my jaw or activate and cause pain and problems with my TMJ. I bought it for a 2 hour trip in the car. It was comfortable and it really helped.I wish I would have started using it sooner after the assault. The only negative, and this applies to all thick soft neck braces, is that it can get hot.I think this is a great basic brace. And very helpful. I would buy it again. If you are creating a treasure trove of things to help your neck, I think this and an ice pack are 2 good things to start it out with and add out from there. Here are other things to add to your treasure trove to help with neck pain.ICE PACKS -An ice pack kept in the freezer and taken out when needed. This can really help take the pain down. It helps bring swelling down as well. I lie down with the ice pack vertical on my neck (it reaches from the top of my neck to the bottom of my neck.) It really takes the pain way down. The ice packs I’ve found the most useful are the widely used regular ones (4.5 x 9.5 inches or 5.5 x 11 inches) that are clear with blue gel inside. They can be used over and over, indefinitely. Some have more gel inside. They will stay cold, icy temp, longer. These ice packs/gel packs usually can be heated up and used for heat therapy too.I use ice packs all the time on my neck. They are really helpful. They have portable ice packs as well that you activate when needed, but the multiple different ones I have used are not as cold and become warm faster and they cover a smaller area, but as they say, needs must.I also got a SPORTS LABORATORY ICE PACK FOR NECK RELIEF - It’s kind of a half neck brace that keeps an ice pack (that comes with it) held against your neck. The neck brace is adjustable, so you decide how loose or tight it is. The ice pack (can also be used as a heat pack) that is used is about half the size of a regular ice pack and is oriented horizontally, so it helps a bit less than half of the area that a regular ice pack would, but it is a good choice if you have to be up and about.I noted the brand and what this item is called on Revain only because it is very hard to find in the midst of the droves of neck braces. I only found one neck brace of this type. And the descriptive words they use to identify it are so generic that all the droves of neck braces would show as possibilities.Ice packs are highly successful for me on my neck. These ice packs/gel packs can normally be heated and used for heat therapy as well.I love ice packs for my neck. Some people find heat works best for them. I need heat to help my mid back. Ice to help my neck. Go figure, but there you are.CERVICAL NECK TRACTION DEVICE. AND BRACE. I got one. It feels really nice. I don’t know how anything that is so simple and not even attached to anything can create traction, but it does. The relief is instantaneous. As you pump it up you can feel the pressure releasing off your neck. It felt so good. Because this is traction you can only wear it for, i think it’s, 15 to 20 minutes at a time, so it doesn’t replace a regular basic neck brace that can be worn as long as needed. This traction and brace device is definitely something to add to the treasure trove. From one person in pain to another person in pain, the above are all my tips. I hope this helps. No caring person should ever have to live in pain.I really would get this Velpeau neck brace, soft cervical collar. It helped me a lot.I sat in the back seat of a car and leaned forward for over an hour, so that I could hear the person in the front. I thought for sure that I would pay dearly for it. For the 2 hours riding in the car and especially for my leaning forward for over an hour of the ride. That riding in the car would cause a lot of jostling of my neck and the leaning over would cause a lot of strain on my neck and that I would end up in terrible pain. The neck brace was so effective. I was amazed that with the neck brace on, nothing was triggered in my neck. No awful cost. No terrible pain. This neck brace is really helpful. A definite get.
