I work in IT and a good headset is almost as important as any other tool in my office. I have been using a Plantronics Savi W720 (binaural overhead) for many years. My company uses Cisco IP phones and the W720 works best with a Plantronics APC-43 Electronic Switch cable (which eliminates the need for a handset lifter). increased amount of ambient noise Given the amount of devices and systems running in close proximity, Voyager's focus seemed to match what I was looking for - a dual-ear active noise-cancelling headset that would work with my phone, computer/desk phone/ mobile connectivity phone compatible. phone.pros: - noise canceling works well but doesn't really reduce high pitched noise - can connect to my phone anytime and for all audio purposes. my savi w720 only connected to my cell phone when there was an active cell signal - with the right accessories this is the most flexible headset for managing multiple connections (desk phone, computer for skype/voip and cell phone) - good battery life. - However, more on the ear pads needed for noise-cancellation will result in more discomfort after an hour or two. It's only gotten worse since I started wearing glasses - I still need an APC-43 to connect to my desk phone AND an MDA220 headset USB switch to keep things running smoothly. If you add another $200, I'm generally happy, but I would like the headset to be a little more comfortable to wear. Luckily I already had one of the accessories from my previous headset
