Update: The bad smell stays no matter what we do. After the first application, a very unpleasant odor appears. In the end we chose another brand that doesn't pick up the smell as easily. At first everything was fine. But don't believe the description on this page that says it's microwave and dishwasher safe. It's not like this. After a few days of use it started dripping. The smell of the old liquid lingers no matter how hard I try to remove it. (Soap, vinegar, to no avail). I am ordering a new set that will be hand washed only and will update the review.
