Very useful for automotive and other projects where wires/cables need to be routed through metal or plastic holes. The box comes in a variety of sizes, including some without a hole to cover a hole that is no longer in use, or make a center hole of your own size if needed. Some bushings are better suited for thin (like automotive) metal, while others are made for thicker material like plastic trim. The grommets prevent the wire/cable from rubbing against metal or plastic. Specifically used to route the backup camera video cable and wire through the hole in my car's trunk lid.
